Description
2005 LAND ROVER FREELANDER 1. 8 3-DOOR – ONLY 67, 000 MILES – EXCELLENT HISTORY – MODERN CLASSIC
A genuinely lovely example of the increasingly difficult-to-find Freelander 1 three-door, presented in silver with its distinctive removable rear roof section and only 4 former keepers.
These early Freelanders are now firmly entering modern-classic territory, and finding an original, well-presented example with good history and all the right period features is becoming increasingly difficult.
This particular car really does stand out.
The silver bodywork presents extremely well for a vehicle now over 20 years old, while the contrasting dark body protection, roof rails, side steps, alloy wheels and rear-mounted full-size spare give it the classic Freelander appearance.
The three-door body with removable rear roof section is arguably the most interesting version of the original Freelander and gives the car a character all of its own.
Inside, the condition continues to impress. The original cloth seats, dashboard, steering wheel, carpets and trim have survived extremely well and the cabin has the wonderfully simple, functional Land Rover feel of the period.
EXCELLENT DOCUMENTED HISTORY
The car retains its original Land Rover book pack, owner’s handbook and stamped service book, along with supporting paperwork.
The service book shows an excellent history beginning with Land Rover main dealers and continuing with independent specialists:
26 entries in the service booklet, last serviced at 65, 000 miles.
It is particularly nice to see the original supplying/ dealer information and period Land Rover literature still accompanying the vehicle.

What makes this Freelander particularly appealing to us isn’t simply its condition — it’s the completeness of the car.
It still looks, feels and presents like a proper original Freelander rather than one which has been modified, neglected or used into the ground. The interior in particular is exceptionally presentable for its age.
Twenty years ago these were an everyday sight on British roads. Today, genuinely good early Freelanders are becoming surprisingly difficult to find.
The three-door models in particular have developed a real following, combining traditional Land Rover styling with the unusual removable rear roof and compact proportions.
For somebody looking for an affordable entry into modern-classic Land Rover ownership, we think this represents a particularly interesting opportunity.
A very smart, usable and increasingly collectable example of an important piece of Land Rover history.
