Sensitively restored, taxed & in good running order motorcycle, which still retains all of it's original character & patina. Both front & rear brake linings have plenty of life in them and both 1st & 2nd gears work correctly; as does the clutch engage to use peddle power for 1st & 2nd, if desired. This model also has a spring loaded rear rack & a rather old & rusty tool box. Complete with V5 document in my name.
I've left the paint as original, so inevitably she has several areas of rust which I've simply oiled over & will need maintaining if she is not to deteriorate further. Personally, I think old bikes should probably keep some of their old battle scars, as for me this gives the bike it's soul; but I will concede it is also very nice to see bikes restored to their former glory too - anyway I've not gone this extra step as it allows for her next owner to decide how far to take the restoration.
As a 1956 model, she no longer requires a MOT and is also categorized as a historic vehicle, so has free road Tax too. Insurance & running costs are very cheap. A great little bike to nip the the shops, with a huge heritage & classic style; with the benefit that you can always simply pedal home if you ever run out of fuel (it will be ages between filling up). 12 months nil value (free) road tax starting Jan 2014, running til 31st Dec 2014.
I have videos of start-up & running if required (not great, but they show her stationary, starting off the pedal kick & ticking over nicely & also running changing from 1st to Second gear).
