1953 Vintage Alloy Race Car For Sale

Discovered outside Mosport Raceway (Canada) is what appears to be an early 50s all Aluminum race car!

Purity of form with styling cues from Jaguar C & D, Aston Martin, Maserati and even Ferrari (i. e., splayed front fenders, elongated bonnet, rear hip fenders, "butterfly" dash, tucked rear cowl, perplex wind screen, aluminum tonneau, etc.).
The car may have been Factory built with evidence of pressed inner & outer panels, perhaps a "Custom" race car, prototype or a one-off "Special".

VINTAGE AESTHETICS + MODERN PERFORMANCE

Over the years, the original frame and drivetrain were lost and replaced (prior to my acquisition) with a custom Corvette C3 based frame.
To maintain the light weight build for the car we have added a twin turbo aluminum LS engine (550 hp) and T56 six speed transmission were selected from the GM Holden Facility in Australia
(note: Holden built engines are reported to have higher output than US built engines).

An advanced Street & Slalom Corvette suspension was installed with composite rear monospring rated at 340 lbs; 550 lbs. front powder coated coil springs; Bilstein Sport Gas Shocks, beefier sway bar, polyurethane suspension bushings. and refreshed 4 caliper disc brakes.
In addition the car is equipped with power steering and Posi rear end.

A period vintage aluminum body combined with a "Performance" inspired build (2200 lbs. with 550h. p and a 50/ 50 weight ratio) is a rare find.
This car achieves the magical 4 lb. per horsepower a number only achieved by the most elite exotic cars in existence!
The car is a terrific reminder of those great glory days of 1950s racing.
