EXTERIOR
The Brilliant Silver paintwork on this rare SL is in lovely condition throughout, with only a couple of blemishes to note on very close inspection. The subtle two-tone finish looks incredibly smart and really compliments the black leather interior. The electric soft top operates smoothly at the touch of a button and is free from any wear or marks, with the rear windows also crease-free. The factory hard top is included with the car and is in perfect order inside and out, resting on its portable stand when not in use.
INTERIOR
The pristine black leather seats are impeccably clean and show absolutely no wear or any sagging to the bolsters. The polished wood trim is all unmarked throughout with a flawless shine. Built when the engineers were in charge at Mercedes-Benz it is no surprise that the centre console gadgets and switchgear are all still working perfectly. The carpets also remain clean and are protected with the correct Mercedes over-mats. The boot still houses the original alloy spare wheel, CD multichanger, wind deflector, and car cover.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Weighing in at over two tonnes the SL600 is able to achieve a 0-60 time of 6. 1 seconds thanks to its enormous 6-litre V12, which punches out a mighty 389hp. The engine bay of this example is extremely clean and tidy, with absolutely no hints of any corrosion or damage to be found. The car has been particularly well maintained over the years with an extensive service record as proof of this.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The SL sits on the factory set of 8-hole light alloy wheels, which are 16-inch in diameter. They present in lovely original condition throughout, with almost no curb marking and only light age related wear as evidence of the their 22 years on the road. They are shod in a matching set of Michelin Primacy HP tyres, each with ample tread remaining.
HISTORY FILE
This rare V12 SL was first registered in August 1995 and was supplied new by Normand Mayfair Ltd, Park Lane. Since that time it has seen just three owners. The history file is present with the complete and original V12 leather document pack, which includes all the relevant manuals. The dealer-supplied maintenance booklet features nineteen stamps, with the most recent service having just been carried out at the current mileage. The maintenance intervals are as follows:
