This cute little Astra can be shown straight away on this Summer's show circuit and has prize winning potential. It also has "investment" written all over it.
According to the DVLA howmanyleft website, this is one of only 2 1983 Astra 1600S GL Hatch automatics left in the UK!!! So, when we say "stand out from the crowd"... we mean it!
Finished in Sapphire blue metallic with a lovely blue crushed velvet interior and with its original fit radio and super rare GM rubber mats and mudflaps. It even has its original dealer number plates and rear window sticker too!!
CONDITION:
The overall condition is excellent. The pictures tell their story. Clean and bright paintwork, lights bumpers and glass etc are all in excellent condition. The car has obviously been garaged throughout its life. Bumpers, lights, glass etc are all in super order. No rust on arches or front valance. (The car was treated when new to a thorough coating of Zeibart type waxoil in all the cavities and the underside, which has helped preserve the car in the condition you see today)
The interior is a delight. The seats, carpets, door cards, dash and headlining are superb and sun damage free. The carpets have been protected by genuine GM rubber mats. The original GM radio is still present and the steering wheel retains an "as new" look and feel.
The car drives well and the auto gearbox changes as intended. A really nice smooth and relaxed drive!
(Due to its age there are the odd small chips etc, but for 34 years old, its a gem).
DOCUMENTATION:
We have on file a neat A4 ring binder which contains the original v5 and the latest v5, which shows 2 owners from new. The first lady owning the car for some 32 years!
There are a number of previous MOT certificates and early service invoices along with a number of old tax discs and the all important owners manual and service booklet.
SERVICE BOOKLET entries at PDI, 1054, 2808, and 4462 miles.
MOT's at 5985, 6682, 7403, latterly at 13510, 13754, 13811, 13883, 13895, 13900 and 13995 miles
CURRENT MOT until end of September WITH NO ADVISORIES!
The car has obviously covered very little mileage in recent years and has recently been treated to a service and timing belt and water pump change (documented evidence is on file).
IN OUR OPINION:
What we have here is a rare opportunity to own, most probably, the lowest mileage mk1 Astra GL in the UK (Unless you know different!)
In ready to show condition and with a nice little document file too. Original dealer plates and window sticker add to its originality and offered here at a very tempting price. Investment potential?? We think so !

All documents are available for your inspection and any known faults will be brought to your attention, allowing you to make an informed decision. However, to be clear. These cars have done very few miles over the years and may require some re-commissioning prior to use. (We have personally driven each car for at least 50 miles) However we recommend that the vehicles be taken home by trailer. (This service can be arranged for you at very competitive rates.
