MGB GT Mk 1 – Restored/ Previous Owner 30 years
The MGB GT, designed by Pininfarina, was introduced in October 1965 and can claim to be one of the earliest sports hatchbacks to go into volume production. The rear deck offers excellent luggage space with a 2+2 option and improved aerodynamics gives the Mk1 GT a top speed in excess of 100mph.
Our latest MGB GT was owned by the previous lady owner for nearly 30 years and has only come to market through lack of use. The history folder indicates that a gold seal engine was fitted in 1984 (35, 000 miles ago) and the body was restored in the late 1990’s. The car was then recommissioned in 2006 by Beech Hill Garage at a cost of approximately £10, 000.
The Teal Blue body work presents extremely well with the good quality respray still retaining a deep shine with no evidence of micro-blistering or corrosion. The engine bay was detailed during the restoration and all internal floor plans are in blue paint with light rust-proofing underneath.
The interior was replaced to original specification in 2006 with replacement seat covers, carpets, headlining and refurbished dash. The history folder contains invoices, MOT’s and photographs back to the 1980’s. The car drives as good as it looks with excellent mechanics and the MGB soundtrack enhanced by a stainless steel exhaust
Mk1 MGB GT’s are highly desirable and this much loved, fastidiously maintained example will give years of pleasure to the fortunate new owner
