1938 Derby Bentley 4. 25 litre Park Ward Sports Saloon
Chassis Number: B40LS
Registration number:: HPX969
Just coming out of a fastidious restoration. All that remains to be done is for the radiator to come back from being re-cored & then the car is available. Prior to it coming to us, it may be viewed in South Wales by Appointment.
The car is in absolutely beautiful condition throughout. The paintwork is brand new & done to a very high standard in two tone duck egg blue & RAF blue; a colour scheme that handsomely suits the car accentuating its sensuous body lines. To the interior is brand new pale blue leather with matching pale blue carpets. Woodwork is of polished well-figured burl walnut.
A full engine build has been undertaken as has a restoration of the chassis & braking system over a period of many years by the engineer/ owner who has restored a variety of similar cars to equally high standards. Thus the engine bay is highly detailed to show standards & the engine a silent powerful assemblage of parts befitting of the moniker: "The Silent Sports Car."
The coachwork is by Park Ward with the body being one of the later steel examples.
The car has an interesting early history. Its first owner was Gerhard Fritz a German banker working in Holland, a Nazi sympathizer, connected to the Dutch royal family, and also a director of Farben IG.
We will conduct a full photo shoot once the radiator is back in the car & it has arrived with us.
