The Mercedes-Benz R107 was produced from 1971 to 1989, making it the second longest single series produced by the company; a clear indication of this models popularity. The R107/ SL is a true sports car having 2 seats, a removable roof and a plenty of power. Its 2. 8 ltr straight 6 engine gives 182bhp at 6000RPM allowing a top speed of 129MPH comfortably and as with the previous models, the suspension was well developed making this car very relaxing and easy to drive over long distances.
The 280SL we offer here is a 1985 example finished in champagne gold with a cream interior, a matching gold hardtop and a black soft-top. It is currently with its 5th owner and has covered a recorded mileage of 76240. The car is in lovely condition and is a superb and reliable all year round classic that offers excellent performance and reliability. With aged well leather and original upholstery it is a good example of an original 280 SL and a great addition to any garage.
