Beschreibung

2004 '53' plate 5 speed manual model with only 2 owners and a genuine 55, 000 miles from new.

It is in fantastic shape throughout and much has been spent over the years to keep it in this condition. I'd always wanted an A2 as when I came out it was, and still is miles ahead of its time in terms of design and construction. It's made from high strength aluminum which is strong yet very lightweight meaning even with a relatively small engine it was fast, economical and very good fun to drive. It cost Audi a fortune to develop and manufacture and it's said they lost money on everyone one they sold - it's just like a Bugatti Veyron! It's styling also sets it apart as something special, particularly in this ultra rare Colour Storm specification.

Since I bought the car I've taken time to ensure all is well throughout and I spent a long time looking for the right one to start with. I had to go down south to inspect, then later collect it and it had certainly been worth the effort.

The standard specification includes ABS, ASR Traction control, Front fog lamps, Power steering, Remote central locking with alarm, Electric windows and a suite of airbags.

The Colour Storm was a Limited Edition model that was only offered for a short time and was available in Misano Red, Nagaro Blue or the rarest of the three, Imola Yellow. It included satin black features such as wheel arches, roof, bumper inserts and door mirrors. It also included seat centres that matched the exterior colour and the condition of both the inside and outside of this one is fantastic with no wear or dents to speak of.

Further options fitted on this car include fully automatic Climate Control (works great), Striking 17" alloy wheels (just been refurbished so have no wear or damage and look great) Split folding rear seats and a high Audi Concert CD player. I was relieved this car came without the complicated panoramic sunroof option which can cause all number of issues as it ages. It was the ideal spec for me and I wouldn't change anything on it.

This car has the top of the range engine fitted, the revvy and lightweight 1. 6 FSI petrol with 120PS which in a car that weighs less than a tonne means it moves pretty quickly. It's in great shape and there are no rattles, leaks, creaks, smoke or other noises as you would expect from such a low mileage car. The gear shift action is also nice and smooth, the power steering slick and communicative and the whole car overall feels exceptionally refined and tight.

There wasn't much history when I bought the car but the oil and other fluids looked to be in great condition and the air filter was new so it had clearly been looked after. When I first got the car I put it up on a ramp and checked everything underneath and found all to well. The suspension components and bushes were in good shape with no clonks or sogginess when driving and all the MOT history was present backing up the mileage. There was no wear on the interior and the exterior plastics and fittings were in very good condition, even the headlight covers that often fade with age - it looks to me like the car has been garage for a large part of its life as there is also no fading to the paintwork or rubbers.

As a precautionary measure a full cambelt and water pump kit was fitted and a full service completed. This included new fluids, fuel filer and Bosch oil filter and spark plugs. The engine sounds great and is very smooth, everything working exactly as it should with no warning lights or service reminders. The auxiliary belt was also changed at the same time and the cooling system serviced and refreshed with new correct fluid.

New brake pads were also fitted at the rear and the tyres are all in great shape. Another set of smaller 15" alloy wheels is also available if required and could be used as an additional set of winter tyres.

The advanced design and light weight means it also returns an easy 45mpg yet can still accelerate briskly. It's small design makes it easy to park yet it is still very spacious inside especially for tall people like me. Parts are also low cost and plentiful.

It has a long MOT, is HPI clear and also qualifies for cheap road tax and classic car insurance. It has just had its full service so won't need another one for some time (and then it will only be an oil service).

This is certainly one of the best A2's on sale and makes a great modern classic alternative to a Fiesta, Corsa, Ibiza, Polo, Fabia, Mito etc.

It is a very rare and appreciating asset (I've not seen another Imola Yellow Colour Storm for sale in the U. K. and in Germany they appear to go for circa €10k) and a bullet-proof investment that will never rust (it's aluminium after all) and that could suit someone who wants to use it as everyday transport or someone who would prefer to cherish it as part of their collection.

Nothing needs doing to it and amy inspections would be welcome. If you have any questions or would like to discuss further please do not hesitate to get in contact and thanks for looking.
