Kawasaki 750 H2c. built march 1975.
Found in Michigan USA, where it had been standing in a lorry for the best part of 30 yrs.
I bought it last year and got it shipped over. I did not want to restore it, just clean it and get it roadworthy, leaving it looking like when it was found.
partialy stripped it and gave it a good clean, wheel bearings were cleaned and checked then regreased, new tyres and tubes fitted. new brake master cylinder kit and disc pads fitted, inside of the tank was sand blasted and then lined with the latest ethonal resistant liner. front forks were rechromed, and rebuilt with new seals etc, new chain and sprockets. rear wheel spokes are a bit rusty, but are solid. exhaust has some small dents/ scuffs and scrapes and the down pipes are solid but a bit rusty here and there, it does not have the original baffles in, look like a home made set, but they do the job, the complete exhaust system could do with a bit of a decoke.
Stripped the motor, gearbox is good, had the crank reconditioned (by a well known source), new pistons (0. 5mm over) and rebore. matching eng/ frame no, s (300 apart?) Stripped and cleaned the carbs.
Tank has some small dents and scratches and is faded on top, side panels are solid with scratches and a bit of paint flaking off as is the tail piece, The sprocket cover has one fastener broken off in the case, look like someone has tried to get it out before, I forgot to do it when I had the cases split, but easy repair. good seat and base. KH side stand. has a broken trip knob on the speedo, but I have some somewhere, so will try and replace that,
9606 miles on the clock, 130 of which I have put on, mileage will go up as it will get used.
Bike is registerd and I have a V5 in my name.
