EXTERIOR
The limited edition Silver Arrow is coated in a beautiful, ultra-metallic silver paint (777). Under our showroom lights the deep metallic flake looks sensational on this example. All of the paintwork is in excellent condition and remains free from any scratches or swirl marks. Every contour and angle of the car's bodywork is perfectly straight, with no evidence of poor repair or unsightly door dings.
The SL is equipped with a desirable panoramic hardtop plus an additional aluminium hardtop, the matching silver paintwork remaining in wonderful condition on both. For the warmer months, the car boasts an immaculate black soft top that can be operated at the touch of a button.
INTERIOR
The interior space of the Silver Arrow has a classy ambiance, comprising of black and silver two-tone Nappa Leather upholstery. The seats remain in excellent condition with only the lightest of wrinkles to be found on the surface; they are also free from any wear to the bolsters. The rear seats are in perfect un-worn condition, still feeling soft and plush.
The two-tone leather theme continues to the door panels, steering wheel, and gear knob. Meanwhile, the centre console sports beautiful black bird's-eye maple wood trim; the majority of the switchgear can be found here as well as the contrasting aluminium gear gate. The instrument cluster is finished with the same aluminium trim, all of which is unique to the limited edition Silver Arrow.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Under the bonnet lies the magnificent 5-litre Mercedes-Benz V8, producing over 300hp and launching the SL to 60 mph in a swift 6. 1 seconds. This example is in excellent mechanical condition having always been maintained at the correct intervals by both main dealers and Mercedes specialists. It was most recently serviced at 50k miles.
The Silver Arrow utilises the intelligent Mercedes electric 5-speed automatic gearbox, which adapts the timing of the changes to the changes in road gradient, as well as syncing with an individuals driving style in fully automatic mode.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The split-rim six-spoke 18-inch alloys help to set the Silver Arrow apart and look sensational with their highly polished lip. All of the wheels are in excellent shining condition with no lacquer damage to be found whatsoever. The wheels are shod in Pirelli P-Zero tyres at the front and Continental tyres on the rear, all of which have a good amount of tread remaining. Both front and rear discs and pads were replaced at 44k miles by John Haynes Auto technics; having done only 7k miles since they still feel strong and responsive, pulling the SL up quickly and smoothly.
HISTORY FILE
The Silver Arrow was first registered on the 8th of March 2002 and comes with a desirable "SL" private registration plate. In the maintenance booklet there are seven service stamps; the first four entries are by Mercedes main dealers, and the last three have been carried out by Mercedes specialists with invoices to match. The history file also contains all the dealer-supplied handbooks, a period Mercedes-Benz accessories portfolio, numerous tax discs, plus MOT certificates to verify the mileage.
