One of the most revered, collected and desired Porsche’s ever made, 1993 marked the 30th anniversary of the launch of the 911 and to celebrate the event Porsche produced a limited edition of the 964 - often referred to as the "Jubilee" model.
With only 911 examples produced in a limited choice of exterior colours (Viola, Polar Silver and Amethyst) the "Jubilee" 911 featured with a top tier specification based on the 964 Carrera 4 with wide body Turbo-style front and rear guards, full leather interior, 4 wheel drive, airbags and air conditioning and sunroof.
Just 17 cars arrived on Australian shores and only on the very rare occasion does one become available for sale to own, enjoy and invest in.
Offered here is an Australian delivered, the details below Jubilee in its original Polar Silver over Rubicon leather trim with matching dials in outstanding condition and travelled just 177, 000 kilometres.
Released from a private collection, delivered new through Austral Motors Porsche, Brisbane in April of 1994, this meticulously kept and rare 911 was recently subject to a top end overhaul simultaneously receiving new shock absorbers, suspension bushes and a replacing of the air conditioning compressor, clutch master cylinder and clutch plate all under the guise of classic Porsche specialists based in Sydney.
In such original condition all of the subtle nuances from the well-kept interior trim including the firm perforated leather sports seats, plush original rubicon carpets and seemingly untouched switch gear this car has been a prized possession.
Even the limited production numbered badging is still present and in pristine condition, so too is the correct Sekurit glass and the overall feeling inside the cockpit is neat and crisp.
The exterior has been kept in the same meticulous fashion. The Polar Silver paintwork highlights the 964’s wide-body curves well, all correct Bosch light lenses are still fitted as well as the correct tear-drop rear vision mirrors and colour crested centre caps for the original Cup2 alloys so often replaced.
The drive is also totally engaging. An event from the moment you feel the solid click of the door opening, to the rifle like gear shifter and well-weighted steering nothing puts power to the road quite like a wide bodied Carrera 4. This is obviously a car that has had the right mechanic with the right tools maintain it from the get go.
Accompanied by its original log books and manuals showing a complete service history, receipts for all major works, Porsche keys and a collection of related motoring magazine articles this limited production Jubilee Type 964 911 is something incredibly special.
