Description
MGB GT – Husband & Wife Owned from New
The fixed-roof MGB GT was introduced in October 1965. Styled by Pininfarina the GT offers a brilliant combination of sports car looks and practicality for the classic car enthusiast.
Milestones are delighted to offer one of the most original MGB GT’s that you could hope to find. Bought new on 1st August 1971 (to qualify for the new ‘K’ registration) by Mr Frederic Walker the car was ordered in the one year only option of bedouin with autumn leaf interior. Mr & Mrs Walker collected their new car from Davies Garages (Shanklin) Ltd, the local dealership on the Isle of Wight although the car was supplied by Wadham Stringer (Portsmouth) Ltd.
The car remained in Mr Walker’s name until 1999 when the car passed to his wife, Brita who used the car regularly until she was in her early 90’s. Always kept on the island (still retains her original Isle of Wight registration number) the ‘B’ is utterly original and has clearly been treasured all its life – you only have to look at the pictures. Original seat covers, rubber mats, carpets, radio, steering wheel etc – it is as supplied and virtually impossible to repeat.
On the road the car drives superbly, sounds great and it really is like stepping back into the 1970’s. The history fold contains the original BMC Passport to Service with the early service records, MOT’s since the 1980’s, original handbook. radio operating instructions and a variety of invoices
At Milestones we travel all over the country and look at hundreds of MGB’s. This is simply one of the most original, best driving GT's we have ever had the pleasure to sell.
We expect the car to find an appreciative home very quickly
