We are delighted to be able to offer this beautiful 1968 Mercedes 280SL W113 for sale.
The Mercedes-Benz W 113 was introduced at the 1963 Geneva Motor Show, and production ran from 1963 to 1971 as the replacement of the 190 SL. In total 48, 912 W 113 SLs were produced as 230s, 250s and 280s SLs all of which were equipped with an inline-six cylinder engine with multi-port fuel injection.
The 280SL went into production in late 1967 and until 1971 a total of 23, 885 were produced when the W113 was replaced with the W107.
The optional removable hardtop with its slightly concave design inspired the “Pagoda” nickname.
This right hand drive example with only just 72, 000 miles (odometer reading) received a engine replacement some time ago which originated from a 280 SE and with that is not a number matching car.
The car is mechanical in good order but will require some welding work on the underside of the car as well as new seat covers (new driver side and passenger side floor panels are included in the sale).
A new roof was fitted recently.
