The Appeal
The MGC Roadster is the six-cylinder big brother of the MGB, fitted with a 3.0-litre straight-six that gives it a distinctive character and effortless cruising ability. Produced for just two years between 1967 and 1969, the MGC is considerably rarer than its four-cylinder sibling and has become increasingly sought after by enthusiasts.
This 1968 example benefits from a documented restoration carried out in California in 1993, supported by photographs. It has been in the current owner's care since 2010, during which time it has been used exclusively in summer and dry stored over winter — a regime reflected in the reported good condition of the chassis.
Around 2011, the engine was rebuilt and fitted with a Stage 2 fast road tune, producing 125bhp on a rolling road. Period upgrades to brakes and suspension have also been carried out, and the four-speed gearbox with overdrive on 3rd and 4th gears means it is said to cruise comfortably at motorway speeds.
An extensive file of paperwork accompanies the car, along with a tonneau cover, luggage rack, spare steel wire wheel, and essential touring spares. MGC-77.jpg4.3 MB
