Description
One of the last examples of the Carrera 3. 2 Targa models produced which thus benefits from the many upgrades introduced over the models long production, most notably the G50 gearbox and the larger wheel size standardised for the 1989 model year. The car is finished to a great specification with lovely special order Slate Grey Metallic coachwork and complimentary full burgundy leather interior as ordered by Alan Clark for his much loved Carrera. An unusual factory order was the sports seat for the driver and standard seat for the passenger as evidently the first owners wife did not find the deeper bolsters comfortable.
The car was ordered when new from Monarch Porsche, the main dealer in Warwick, by Mr Anthony Breakwell, initially it was run as his company car and was delivered on the 4th February 1989 to his company, Grant Thornton, based in nearby Coventry.
Mr Breakwell obviously loved the car as he retained it for the rest of his life, his son only selling the car in 2012. During this long ownership 103, 000 miles were covered and the Porsche was perfectly maintained with annual services by the supplying dealer until 2009 when Mr Breakwell stopped driving regularly. The original stamped service book details this maintenance as do a number of invoices and all previous MOT certificates on file.
The Targa has continued to be well looked after by enthusiasts and it remains in excellent and largely original order throughout indeed it is hard to believe it has covered 110, 000 miles. On s recent test drive it performed superbly displaying a tautness and fluency that a well maintained Porsche Carrera of this vintage is synonymous with.
It comes with all original books, tools, keys and the above mentioned history file of correspondence, invoices, Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, MOT certificates and ownership history.
