After 3. 5 years daily use I’m regretfully having to sell my trusty 1973 MGB GT, my work needs now require I use a car with a larger boot. I bought the car in early 2009 when she had just 28, 000 miles on the clock with just two previous owners. Since buying the car I have done several subtle, but reversible modifications to ensure this is a most reliable and usable MGB. I have owned several MGB GTs over the years and I can honestly say this is by far the best drive of them all.
I have used this car daily for work and leisure and after 25, 000 miles use she has never once let me down and she always starts first turn of the key. Although she now bears some scars from daily use, she is still very presentable and gets a lot of admiration wherever she goes, you will also see that this car is priced nowhere near that of many similar MGB, it is priced realistically and honestly. As you can see from the pictures she is a very pretty little car and includes the desirable extras such as full leather upholstery, full-length Webasto-style Britax sunroof, chrome bumpers and modern reproduction Minilite alloy wheels.
If you are looking for a show car, this probably isn’t for you, but if you’re looking for a classic, reliable and fun classic British sports car that’s not going to cost you a lot to purchase, run, maintain & insure. Structurally she is by-and-large very original, although she has had new sills and lower rear wings she is original across the floor pans and chassis. She has always been regularly Waxoyled to ensure she should stay solid for many years to come. I firmly believe the MGB was a car built to be driven and enjoyed and that’s always been the focus of any work and modification that’s been done to the car, these are all beneath the skin and the car retains that classic simplicity and charm that made (and still makes) the MGB such a popular sports car. Aside from the modern CD radio that’s fitted (the 8 track player it had fitted was long-since obsolete), it looks every part an original and unmolested classic.
This car was fitted with an optional brake servo when new, but the diaphragm on this failed last year. I got a local garage to by-pass this so I could still use the car. I have brought a brand-new uprated brake servo ready to fit, but to be quite honest I never missed the servo so never got around to fitting it. The full fitting kit and servo will be included with the sale of the car, although you will need to fit this yourself (hour or so work).

Cheap and readily available spares – it’s easier to obtain spares for these cars now that it was when they were new. You can even still buy complete body shells!
Priced to sell as need larger car for work and have nowhere to store the MGB. It will be very hard to see this one go, but I have to be practical!
