Vary rare & an absolute road burner in its day. These Vauxhalls boasted a 4. 5 litre side valve engine & were ahead of their time in terms of performance. Indeed we are particualrly impressed with this car as it compares so well against a 4. 5 litre Bentley we currently have in stock. The Vauxhall Coachwork is long narrow low & light; most certinly not impeding forwards progress. Just 274 of these E series cars were produced prior to production of the smaller engined OE model.
The car is finished in a deep shade of blue with black wings; the paintwork being in fine order as is the chrome work on the distinctivly fluted bonnet; a Vauxhall trademark of the period. To the interior is black buttoned leather to the front & rear. The hood is a black canvas affair in good order as it ought to be given that it was never deployed by the last owner. A newer tonneau cover with central zip covers the car when not in use. A hood bag snaps into place over the hood when stowed.
The dash is adorned with the usual complement of period instruments including an original Charles A. Vanderveld (C. A. V.) switch box & Ki Gas priming pump. Twin Brooklands brand Air scoops sprout from the bonnet just foward of the scuttle imparting a nautical look to the car. To the door shuts are original sill plates proclaiming Vauxhall of Great Portland St, London W.
Under the bonnet tthis Vauxhall 30/ 98 Velox tourer is clean & tidy. The enigine starting readily & giving a really fine performance edge for such a period machine. Various bills come with the car from the like of Arthur Archer attesting to assoerted works having been copleted as required. All in all a beautiful car ready for fast road use, hill climbs & rallies.
