The Appeal

If there ever was a car that sells itself simply on its utter beauty, it would be the Jaguar E-Type.

An absolute masterclass in automotive design and engineering, the E-Type is a vehicle synonymous with style performance and unadulterated class.
First launched to high levels of praise, both for its unquestionably brilliant styling and the equally great performance it provided, the E-Type was something of a revolutionary car.

Sporting disc brakes, a monocoque body and dynamic rack and pinion steering, the Jag was very much an advanced car. An excellent culmination of looks and performance that still retains legend status some six decades on from first production.
Certainly one of the finest examples to come to market in some considerable time, this absolutely wonderful 1973 E-Type arrives fresh from a highly extensive restoration, commissioned by the current owner, this has been performed to the highest of standards and the mighty Jaguar presents as such.

The History and Paperwork

 • Extensive collection of invoices for the restoration work commissioned by the current owner
 • Jaguar Daimler heritage trust certificate
 • Series of invoices for general servicing and work performed while the car was in located in Germany
 • Two keys
 • Tax and MOT exempt due to historic status
 • Correct V5 registration document present
As indicated by the information provided in the Jaguar heritage trust certificate that accompanies the car, the E-Type was first delivered to a Mr Clayton of Godsall, being distributed via dealers, Hewitts Garages LTD and C Clarke & Son of Walsall.

The car changed hands and was eventually relocated to Germany where it was owned by a member of the British Army stationed in the country.
After once again changing hands in Germany, the Jaguar found its way back home to England where it was purchased by the current owner, an avid classic car enthusiast and collector of truly excellent automobiles.

Under this ownership the Jaguar has been treated to a highly extensive restoration process to bring the car up to the standard it truly deserves.

The Interior

 • Brilliant black leather upholstery
 • Restored to a great standard
 • Presents in wonderful order
 • Updated vintage style radio
Please note that since the time of the photoshoot for this vehicle, the car has been fitted with a new dash top panel and a series of small switchgear needed to complete the restoration of the Jag’s cabin.
With the E-Type sporting such wonderful exterior styling, it is only natural that the body is paired with an equally beautiful interior space, which is precisely what one finds when opening the doors to inspect this example.
A wonderful cluster of switches, controls and gauges embellished with the finest chrome trim, the deep black dash piece and centre console are of a wonderful standard and sit nicely alongside.

The two sculpted leather seats, also of an excellent standard, boasting neat stitching and high quality upholstery; these are well paired with a set of colour matched door panels, adorned with lashings of fresh chrome trim.

At ground level we find an equally smart carpet set, draping its way across the cabin floor and the footwells. As to be expected of a recently restored vehicle, there is a distinct lack of wear to be seen anywhere within the Jaguar’s cabin.
Being a convertible variant of the E-Type, we find the car installed with a black fabric convertible top to match the original factory specification.

Whilst ideally this won’t be needed for those enjoying the car through the upcoming summer months, the roof functions fully and with ease, and can be removed within a matter of moments.

It comes as no surprise to report that the material itself is in great shape.

The Exterior

 • Unquestionably beautiful automobile
 • Wonderful red paint scheme
 • Great quality chrome and new wire wheels
 • Convertible roof
It is well known among the classic car world that upon the launch of the E-Type, Enzo Ferrari was reported to have called the model, “the most beautiful car ever made”.

It’s a statement that arguably still rings true some 60 years later, and the example we see here certainly makes a great case for it.
As part of the rather extensive restoration this Jaguar was treated to, a respray in, arguably the finest colour choice for the E-Type, the brilliant red hue used to originally launch the model back in the 1960’s.

Having been finished to such a high standard, the paint has something of a mile deep quality to it, with a brilliant shine bellowing out as it drapes its way over the long sloping body lines.
We find the exterior to have been perfectly complimented by a myriad of brilliant chrome trim, much of which has been replaced or refinished to provide the best quality end product for the Jag.

The chrome wrap-around bumpers are in exemplary condition, although one should note that since the time of the photoshoot, the centre section of the rear bumper has been replaced with a better quality piece to more suit the standard of the car.
The headlight bezels, glass and badging dotted around the vehicle in addition to the long sweeping, front hinged bonnet, a piece to marvel in its own right, present in truly remarkable condition.
At ground level we are presented with four absolutely excellent chrome wire wheels. With these being new replacements fitted during the restoration process they are naturally of an excellent standard and exhibit very little if anything in the way of wear.

The Mechanics

 • Subject to comprehensive mechanical overhaul
 • Glorious V12 engine
 • Automatic transmission ideal for touring

The Series 3 E-Type can be identified from its older counterparts in a number of ways.

Most notably at first glance, the differing front grille piece and wider track, however hiding under the bonnet, and denoted by the badging on the rear bootlid, is the most notable change, the updated and revised 5.3 litre V12 engine.
Having been subject to extensive specialist maintenance throughout its lifetime, and a thorough overhaul during the restoration process, the engine found in CRE 77M is an absolute gem.

Presenting in great clean order the powerhouse fires into life with ease, with a simply exquisite tone bellowing from the marvellous rear mounted quad tip exhaust piece.
On the road the E-Type is reported to provide a wonderful and rewarding drive.

Being paired to a smooth automatic transmission, this is certainly a car that lends itself to great summer drives and cruises on a lovely summer day.

Summary

It quite possibly is the ultimate classic car, most definitely one of the most iconic.

When one is told to think of either an iconic classic car, British car or stylish sports car what else comes to the forefront of the mind more so than a bright red Jaguar E type?
With summer approaching fast on the horizon, this convertible E-Type is the ideal car to enjoy the upcoming weather and car show season.

Whether your passion lies in driving, displaying or a mixture of the two, this mighty Jaguar is the ideal piece of kit for the job, thanks to an extensive mechanical and aesthetic restoration.

Ammontare dell'offerta Incremento
Da £0 a £9,999 £100.00
Da £10,000 a £49,999 £250.00
Da £50,000 a £99,999 £500.00
£100,000 + £1,000.00

Superamento immediato dell'offerta
