Despite making the slightly narrower than on the more traditional flat-sided trucks, the Flare Side design adds a sense of style to an otherwise function-over-form corner of the motoring industry.
The curvaceous rear end is complemented by the brilliantly cared for black paint showing off all the vehicles’ shapes. The exterior spec is topped off by a white pinstripe along the bottom of the body and chrome bumpers which look great without stealing all the attention.
As is typically the case with imported American cars, this F150 sits on GT Radial tyres which, sat tightly within the wheel arches, give the model a great low-slung stance.
In true American style, a massive 5.8-litre V8 engine sits under the bonnet. Dubbed the Windsor engine, Ford’s small block motor sends its power to an automatic gearbox. With around 200hp and a less than sporty transmission, this model isn’t going to be winning many races. Though it should provide plenty of torque to do its job; heavy lifting.
This model was designed as to be a builder’s workhorse and having been imported to the UK early in its life, this is something it hasn’t had the chance to do. Along with plenty of invoices proving how much work has gone into this car, it should be in great condition for many years to come.
This Ford F150 is a stylish example of an otherwise rugged market. It presents itself beautifully with its curvaceous body covered up by excellent deep black paint.
