2001 Jaguar S-Type V6

Highlights

• Low mileage
• Beautifully presented
• 2 previous keepers from the same family

The Background

Jaguar cars introduced the S-Type in 1999. It was aimed at capturing a younger market for Jaguar’s new medium sized luxury saloon. The styling was envisioned to be a revival of the classic 1963 S-Type, but with a modern twist. Using Ford’s DEW platform, which was also used on the Lincoln LS and Ford Thunderbird, the S-Type used the suspension and drivetrain unique to Jaguar.
The S-Type came with a range of engines to choose from, a 2.5 V6, 3.0 V6 or the larger 4.0 V8, 4.2 V8 and even a 4.2 litre Supercharged V8, and not forgetting the 2.7 litre V6. They were coupled to either a 5-speed manual, 5-speed J-Gate automatic or 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic, depending on the year. This particular model, the 3.0 litre V6, produces 235 bhp and is capable of 0-62mph in 7.6 seconds, with a top speed of 146mph.

The History

The seller of this lovely 2001 Jaguar S-Type 3.0 litre V6, purchased the car as a stop gap whilst waiting for his new car to be delivered, (which had been delayed). He wanted something clean and reliable and always liked the idea of owning a V6, so the search began for something that would suit.

The seller stumbled across this 2 owner Jaguar with low miles, and a good history. It is believed that the car was originally purchased by a gentleman who purchased it for his golden anniversary, hence the colour, and then it was passed to another family member.

The S-Type has been repainted whilst in the previous ownership, and it looks to have been done everywhere apart from the roof, to give it a freshen up. The owner at the time thought with such low miles it was worth the cost to get it done, and it has paid off, the Jaguar looks very fresh and well presented.

Now the seller’s new car has arrived and the V6 itch has been scratched, the need for another car is no more, hence the reason for the sale of this Topaz Metallic S-Type Jaguar.

The Paperwork

The V5 is present and shows 2 previous keepers for the vehicle, and it comes with 2 sets of keys and alarm fobs.

The original Jaguar wallet is present, complete with the owner’s handbooks, audio instructions, security information and the service book, which shows 11 service stamps for the incredibly low mileage car. The last service was carried out on 27th August 2020 at 34,327 miles.

There is a nice amount of paperwork with the car from previous services and some parts. The history can only be described as seriously substantial and is in excellent order. Everything that has been done to the car is listed, which you seriously wouldn’t want to tot up.

There is an MOT on the car which is valid until the 28th June 2022.

The Interior

Inside, the Jaguar is in  superb condition, and it is evident that the car really is low mileage, the interior is excellent. The Cashmere colour leather seats show very little signs of any wear, as you would expect for the miles, and they are fully working as they should. The same can be said for the rear seat which doesn't look like it's been sat in. The door cards again are excellent with no noticeable scuffs or wear.

Sitting in the driver’s seat and the outlook is immaculate, the dashboard and centre console, are both unmarked and in excellent condition. The instrument cluster is working as it should with no fault lights displayed, and the odometer is reading just 34,859 miles. The stereo and heater controls are also excellent with no wear to any of the buttons.

The carpets, as you would expect, are unmarked. There is a set of mats to protect them and these are also in excellent condition. Up above, the headlining is spotless with no sagging to be seen. Into the boot, again spotless, and lifting up the carpet shows the spare wheel, jack and wheel brace.

The Exterior

As mentioned, the car was purchased when new by a gentleman and his wife to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary, which is why this colour was chosen. The car was then passed to a family member who had the Jaguar repainted in the same original colour of Topaz Metallic. The repaint has been executed extremely well and the car looks stunning. There is the odd bit of paint on some of the trim, but generally it has been done really well.
Moving around to the sides and these are as straight as a die with no dings or dents to upset the lines of the Jaguar. The windows are in good condition with no notable scratches to mention, and the chrome trims that surround them are also in good order.

To the rear, you guessed it, just like the rest of the car, very clean with no scuffs or damage to mention. The chrome boot handle and bumper trims are nice and bright, along with the lights which have very little in the way of swirl marks on them. The wheels have been refurbished by the seller to fully complete the look of the S-Type. These are fitted with matching Pirelli P6000, and have plenty of tread remaining for the new keeper.

The Mechanics

Fitted with a 3.0 litre V6, the seller reports that the car is running superbly and there are no issues to mention. It is reported to pull well through the automatic gearbox and the change is silky smooth.

There are no untoward noises coming from the suspension, and the ride is described as extremely comfortable. The engine bay is well presented, and does not appear to have any oil leaks that we could see at the time of our visit. The Jaguar brakes bring the car to a halt as they should, and show no areas for concern.

The Appeal

This 2001 Jaguar 3.0 V6 S Type is presented extremely well, externally and internally. The smooth V6 is the perfect engine to give you the best of both worlds. Should you want to use it for cruising down the motorway or taking it at a slower pace around town, it will accommodate your every need.
The inside offers a sense of luxury and class, with the added bonus of it being in excellent condition, showing nowhere near any signs of its age. This S-type is certainly one that will generate a lot of interest, will you be the one to take it home?

Ammontare dell'offerta Incremento
Da £0 a £9,999 £100.00
Da £10,000 a £49,999 £250.00
Da £50,000 a £99,999 £500.00
£100,000 + £1,000.00

Superamento immediato dell'offerta
