At the time of its launch the Macan Turbo was recognised as the best mid-size performance SUV money could buy.  It was acknowledged as being less of a younger, lightweight sibling to the larger Cayenne, but more of a larger Porsche Cayman, with 4x4 grip, and a lot more power! This example is the pick of the bunch, the 3.6 litre, twin turbo version, banging out 434hp and 442lb/ft of torque.  

This is all delivered through Porsche’s renowned 7 speed multi plate clutch semi-automatic gearbox that is delightful to use, whether with the paddle shift, or in conventional auto mode.  Good for 0-60mph in just 4.6 second and 100mph in just under 11 seconds surely it’s still one of the best all-rounders money can buy. 

Having been pre-registered new by Porsche Head Office in Slough they obviously didn’t hold back on ticking the options list when ordering the Macan.  It has all the best goodies including GTS Sports seats front and rear. The fronts are are 12 way electrically adjustable, heated memory seats. An upgraded Bose sound system, Euro Sat Nav and aluminium “sport” package dress up kit were also included. 

The black leather interior, as you might expect on a car with such low miles, is in excellent condition with no marks or damage.  The only sign of use is limited to slight creasing on the side squab of the driver’s seat.  The dark grey carpets are clean and protected by Porsche fitted mats. The sills, complete with Macan Turbo aluminium door plates, are clean and have no major scratches or marks.

The rear seats are immaculate, although there are some scuff marks on the backs of the front seats.  Opening the powered tailgate via the key reveals a clean and tidy boot space.  There are no marks or stains to the carpet and there are no noticeable scratch marks on the sill.

The Jet Black Metallic exterior finish is in outstanding condition, with virtually no marks to be found.  The sides of the Macan are free of any dings and there are no stone chips to the paint on the nose. The roof is, according to the spec sheet, is painted Deep Black, although it’s not noticeably different to the rest of the car. The glass, lenses and lights are all free of damage, including the vulnerable front fog lights.  Stickers on the side windows remind the “ne’er do wells” that the Macan is protected by a factory option 7I2 Vehicle Tracking Security System.

Another stand-out option on this Macan are the sensational 21 inch 911 Turbo Design wheels.  All four are in superb condition, wrapped in low profile Pirelli P-Zero tyres fitted in 2019, just 4,000 miles ago. These suit the Macan beautifully and give a very purposeful stance. Visible through the spokes are the huge 18 inch brake discs with read painted Porsche callipers.

Another detail to note is the lack of badging on the rear tailgate. The usual Porsche lettering and Macan Turbo script are not present, although there is no mention of a de-badge option on the list.

Overall the exterior of the Macan is hard to fault, it looks great! 

It appears the Macan’s single owner was committed to keeping it in excellent mechanical condition.  There are some notable service invoices in the file. Two invoices of particular note are from October 2019 for a full 40,000 mile Porsche Maintenance Service at a cost of £2,055 at 7,500 miles.  It was at this Service that new Pirelli tyres were fitted. That was followed by another invoice for £1,440 in October 2020 for an Extended 2 year Porsche Warranty which will give the new owner peace of mind until October 2022.

Lifting the bonnet reveals a clean and tidy engine bay.  All the plastic areas are unmarked, and there is evidence of new filters and replaced items.  We would say it all looks as good as new, with no stains or scuffs.  The underside of the Macan is equally as impressive, with just a little road grime.  

There is very little surface corrosion on exposed metal parts either under the bonnet or on the underside; a sign that the Macan has mainly lived indoors. We would suggest that the new owner should have little to fear mechanically; with such a low mileage and a high level of maintenance there should be many miles of Porsche pleasure to come!

It’s hard to find fault with this Macan. Top spec Turbo engine, full documented history, just one owner, unusually low mileage, and spectacular condition. What’s not to like?
