Exquisite 1961 Morrisson Electricar milk float. Fully refurbished a few years ago, with new batteries and Curtis controller. During lockdown, we added bi-fold doors and shelving on both sides to create a mobile deli & coffee shop. The milk float ('Ernie') is a real crowd puller.
As you'd expect, there is no engine, no gears, no fuel and no tax. Ernie is kept in our garage with its charger and we simply plug it in overnight if using it the next day.
This milk float was originally owned by Newhaven Dairies. It recent years it has featured in TV ads for Kath Kidston as well as in film series 'Call The Midwife'.
'Ernie' is easy to drive, silent, and the bench seat is perfect for a second person (or favourite border collie Zola), to sit on.
We have used a generator to power a coffee machine & tea urn, the generator fits perfectly in the well between the bench seat and the 'dashboard'.
I'm selling Ernie because the mobile deli has been so popular I am now openign a bricks-and-mortar deli in Southampton, so will no longer have time to take Ernie out.
Thank you for reading, and please ask any questions you may have.
