Jeep CJ7 Renegade. 4. 2 ltr auto RHD. Denim.
V5 lists as 1982, VIN decode says manufactured 1981.
Jeep is 40 years old either way so should be exempt from tax and MOT this year.
Purchased in January 2012 and has undergone tub off ground up restoration by mechanical engineer until its first MOT on 7th June 2017 with 54924 miles on the clock.
Since then, it has travelled 216 miles for road tests and MOT appointments.
Latest MOT was 20th July 2022 (55140 miles) which had no advisories.
New rear shoes, cylinders and cables were fitted.
Comes with original Jeep denim soft top fitted with new windows and denim blue upholstery (Code 3EB).
New and reconditioned parts are too numerous to list.
Body.
Tub removed, pressure washed, rust cut out / sand blasted, new panels/ parts fabricated and MIG welded in place.
Body primed, painted and underside wax oiled with liquid and sealer.
Interior surface sprayed with white Protecta-Kote (UVR).
Exterior was planned for “Wrapping” which didn’t take place so paintwork is good but not perfect.
There is some cracking of paint in places but no rust.
New windscreen frame with rubber seals, hinges and glass.
Dashboard repaired and wrapped with carbon fiber look vinyl.
Several instruments replaced.
New controls added.
Complete replacement set of Prothane body mount bushes, washers and bolts.
High-quality stainless-steel side steps / sill protectors fitted.
Roll bar padding fitted with tracker device.
Fitted with new tie down system for cargo. Various USB and charging points fitted.
Doors repaired and reinforced where glass channel tends to crack. New wiper rubbers / seals on internal and external screens.
New external door handles fitted.
New door mirrors fitted. Hinge mount mirrors supplied for when or if doors removed.
New door cards fitted.
Dashcam fitted.
Extensive new wiring and switches.
Spare wheel carrier reinforced for extra weight of wheel.
Renegade motif on bonnet sides has not been re applied.
New bonnet catches.
New side indicator repeaters.
Chassis.
Chassis pressure washed and cleaned internally and externally. Rusted components cut out and replaced (mostly body mount points). All welding by MIG. Chassis given 2 coats of Zinc 182, coat of Hammerite Red Oxide and top coat of Black polyurethane yacht paint. Internal has had over 5 liters of Waxoil pressure injected.
All assembly nuts and bolts are Waxoil coated including contact surfaces.
Engine.
Engine was stripped for inspection and cylinder head reconditioned with new hydraulic valve lifters, valves, seals etc. Carburetor rebuilt with jets, seals, gaskets etc. New water pump. Reconditioned alternator, hoses and water pipes. New filters each year. Most California emissions devices removed.
Complete new exhaust system fitted.
Fuel System.
Fuel tank cleaned and painted. All fuel lines replaced with copper supply and plastic recirc. Several new fuel filters. Auxiliary electric fuel pump fitted to enable fast carburetor fill after long idle standing (prevent starter motor over use).
Brakes.
All brake lines except master cylinder changed to copper.
New dual circuit master cylinder with up rated servo system fitted.
New proportioning and failure warning valve fitted.
New front pads with reconditioned front calipers.
New rear wheel cylinders and Mintex USA shoes fitted to rear.
New handbrake cables fitted.
Gearbox.
Filters and fluid changed in auto box.
Oils changed in transfer box.
Drive train.
Full 2 high, 4 high and 4 low transfer box.
Front free wheel hubs.
New Hardy Spicer couplings fitted to both prop shafts and outer front axle.
Oils changed in both differentials.
Rear axle seals replaced (3).
Gearbox mountings replaced.
New 6 leaf rear springs fitted to improve ride.
Wheels and Tyres
All wheels sandblasted to bare metal, primed and painted with Satin black finish. Tyres refitted and balanced with new valves.
New chrome wheel nuts with locking nuts all around.
Spare wheel cover fitted.
Steering
Power steering box reconditioned.
New shaft couplings and seals.
New anti-kick back shock absorber fitted.
Tilt adjust mechanism repaired.
Spare parts (may be included).
All weather Stormforce fitted cover with storage bag and straps.
Full set of black fitted carpets (now fitted).
Waterproof front seat covers.
Halon fire extinguisher mounted to driver’s seat.
Dash mounted camera.
Spare windscreen rubber.
Windscreen template for glass.

Rear brake shoes (good condition).
