Description
A stunning 1959 Corvette C1
Proudly maintained to the highest standards, this, the best model year of the C1 Corvette, has been passionately and sympathetically updated.
Featured in “Classic American” magazine after a body-off restoration in 2010, this 283 cubic inch, four-speed manual has its original hard-top, as well as a factory heater and Wunderbar radio. The car has always been garaged, with only a few thousand dry miles since overhaul.
We bought it in 2015 and have done a huge amount of further painstaking work with the relevant documentation and invoices. The (heated) seats are now re-padded and reupholstered in leather. The door pads and internal mechanisms have been replaced. The convertible roof is new. Remanufactured windscreen wiper motor and cables. Replacement carburettor, distributor, radio, clock, stainless steel exhaust, and electronic power assisted steering. The tyres are whitewall radials, made to look like the original crossplies, a slightly-used set of which are retained. Even the wiring loom has been replaced. Complete clutch and linkages. Engine hoses, water pump. radiator, fan; the list goes on and on. And on and on. Where parts have been replaced or upgraded, the original parts have been retained.
All this means you can truly set off driving to the South of France for a week on the Riviera, without a care in the world. Since owning it we have spent more than £30, 000. There is nothing left to do.
This is a deeply reluctant sale. Sadly, we need the space.
