1956 RENAULT 4CV 750 Right Hand Drive FOR SALE
The RHD version of the Renault 4 CV 750 was assembled in Renault's factory in Acton from December 1949. The Renault 4 CV 750 has a rear engine that drives the rear wheels via a 3 speed manual gearbox with synchromesh on second and third.
Restoration of this UK supplied RHD example was started approximately 8 - 9 years ago, but was never completed. At the time the car was resprayed to an average standard, this could be improved in areas. Interior seats were retrimmed along with a carpet set and headlining. The car was then put into storage for around 6 years. The door cards have been recovered at an earlier time in the car's 67 years, and are not great. Siting on the original 2 piece, five point star wheels. The engine sounds healthy, gears select easily, once you remember 1st gear is over to the left and BACK, engine bay is tidy and presentable.
Work carried out on the car over the last year:
Wheels stripped and powder coated
New brake master cylinder
4 new wheel cylinders
New brake light switch
New brake shoes
New headlights
Carburettor stripped and cleaned
New carburettor float
New battery
Please note the car is registered with the DVLA on the original transferable number plate which is included in the sale price.
Please call to view. I purchased the Renault just over a year ago having bought it on the spur of the moment, not knowing anything about the 4 CV 750, or ever recall seeing one, but wanted a very small classic car. Loved the styling, the cream steering wheel and suicide doors. Unfortunately due to other commitments I now do not have the time or storage space to take the car to the next level.
