Selling my BMW1990 BMW (E30) 325i CONVERTIBLE - MOTORSPORT EDITION.
This 1990 BMW (E30) 325i Convertible is a fine example of the rare ‘Motorsport Edition’ vehicle produced between 1988 and 1991. Powered by a 2. 5-litre inline-six engine driving the rear wheels.
First registered on 1 November 1990, this Sebring Grey Convertible is one of only 250 Motorsport Edition cars produced during 1990, with the unique ‘bubble’ interior being exclusively available on this rare model. In addition to the unusual interior trim, the ‘Motorsport Edition’ cars also benefitted from an extended leather interior, and later examples such as this also had the M-Tech 2 bodykit fitted as standard. I have owned this vehicle for over 2 years but now selling because i need the space.
The Sebring Grey paintwork was only available on 1990 model year vehicles, and presents in generally great condition. The boot lid has been resprayed during the previous ownership, due to a previous owner having incorrectly applied ‘M’ logo badges, which damaged the paint upon removal. All four wheels are in very good condition with no kerb grazes and we're fefurbed at a cost of £992.
Inside, the unique ‘bubble’ leather interior is in very good shape, and is entirely original with the exception of a re-trimmed driver’s seat base, which the previous owner commissioned to keep it looking smart. The bolsters on both sets of front seats are in very good condition for their age and mileage, with only minor wear visible. There are some marks on the handbrake and centre console along with age-related marks to the door cards and handles, though the appearance is commensurate with the mileage. The standard stereo has been replaced with an Alpine unit, while the speakers have been replaced with Morel items in the front and Alpine in the rear.
In addition to this, the previous vender has undertaken extensive mechanical work, replacing or repairing numerous items including a new folding hood and frame at a cost of £3, 200, a new fuel tank and filler hose, heater blower motor, wiper motor, genuine BMW rear exhaust section with rare ‘black chrome’ tailpipe trim, a new door lock actuator, new interior light, a fully reconditioned steering rack and power steering pipe, and more. To the best of my knowledge, there are no mechanical faults with the vehicle. Invoices are present in the pics detailing the work and parts that have been replaced.
The most recent service took place at 105, 858 miles and was carried out by Quinn & Son Automotive. This was a full service, including filter and fluid changes along with new spark plugs. Prior to this, the vehicle received a major service from BMW specialist BMS Surrey at 103, 829 miles – which included replacement of the cambelt – and there was also a recent service at 98, 665 miles, which included the adjustment of the rocker cover tappets.
The car will come with a full 12 months mot on sale. All four tyres are around five years old, but retain a good level of tread. Included with the vehicle are the service records, BMW hand books and the original BMW tool kit in the boot.
