Reluctant sale of my 1989 928 GT “OGZI”.
The 928 GT was launched in 1989 with 5. 0-litres and 330hp. The 928 GT (Spring 1989-MY 1991) was sportier than the 928 S4, with the engine rated at 330 hp. It was delivered with wheels in a unique design, a limited slip diff and stiffer suspension with adjustable ride height.
This particular black 1989 GT is one of just a handful of right-hand-drive manuals in the UK with the sunroof delete option and factory sports seats, which makes it a rare beast. This GT looks great and as expected, is exciting to drive with no rattles or squeaks. This has been meticulously reconditioned with a huge number of parts replaced to create a dependable daily driver and starts on the button every time.
The interior is in good condition throughout, with normal wear for the age but is complete. The dash is in good condition. The carpets are genuine Porsche silverknit and finished in black for durability and all have been removed and cleaned during the reconditioning process. The previous owner had a glass-out respray undertaken approx. 8 years ago and has driven relatively few miles since then. There is no rust or bubbles in the usual places and the paintwork has a mirror shine.
The car currently has a set of ultra rare period correct Antera alloys which are 10” wide at the rear, but I also have a set of gloss black Boxster S alloys available which have the correct offset for the 928. Tyres have less than 1k miles on them. Also fitted are a set of genuine Porsche aero mirrors, an x-pipe and RMB exhaust creating a nice deep burble on tick-over and a V8 howl on full throttle.
Recent Maintenance:
New water pump and replacement cam belt and tensioners less than 1k miles ago, along with a full suspension replacement and full alignment by 928 Specialists. An alloy radiator was fitted along with new pipes so absolutely no overheating concerns. New distributor caps, rotor arms and plugs. Full fuel system rebuild including refurbished injectors, new fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator. Gearbox oil and brake fluid replaced less than 1k miles ago. Just been serviced by Paul Anderson of 928 Specialists in Stroud, who also serviced the aircon which is now fully working again. Refurbished/ recalibrated MAF.
Service History:
Large folder of receipts for work carried out over the last 25 years totalling over £25k. Previously owned by the legendary Paul Anderson of 928 Specialists Ltd in Stroud UK, and was his daily driver for a number of years before it was taken off the road to be resprayed to a very high standard.
