The Benelli 750 Sei is the first ever production 6 cyl. motorcycle to be produced. Under the ownership of racing driver Alejandro de Thomaso, Benelli, who had made multi-cylinder racing engines, wanted to beat the Japenese in producing a 6 cyl. motorcycle which they did with this beautiful free revving howling beast with typical Italian flair and design, and did so by some 6 years.
This machine was purchased in 2012 by it's present owner for his private collection and who lived in Spain for 6 months of the year. It was purchased from Enrique Martinez of the The Benelli Club Spain as a fully restored machine using original parts that had previously recorded 18, 000Km. It was subsequently privately imported and registered into the UK by the present owner where it has seen little use as part of a collection, mainly taking part in Benelli Club events. Taking part in the Benelli Week in Pesero Italy the bike started to smoke and was left with the Benelli Museum's afiiliated workshop for inspection and repair. It required, and had, a complete top end rebuild and other mechanical parts before being returned to the UK. These machines were also reputed to suffer from their small oil capacity and this machine has been fitted with a larger oil pan (sump) and an oil cooler to allievate this problem. Since that time it has covered less than 400mls and has appeared at Benelli Club displays and shows, it has also had new electrical controls and electronic ignigition fitted. This 45 year old machine has been restored with some original parts in their original condition and consequently has parts showing the patina of a 45 year old machine and is being sold due to the owner reducing the larger machines from his ownership.
