This is a high-specification example of the 80BHP Roadster Coupé in good condition, with many of the common maladies of these cars addressed at significant expense. The body and interior show minor wear consistent with the mileage, but it is one of the better examples of this rare car.
While no Smart Roadster is completely leak-free, this car suffers very little leaking in the rain. It will come with a 'shower cap' cover that covers just the cabin, which I have used on occasions where I have had to park it in heavy rain.
The only modifications to this car are a blow-off valve and a rear parking sensor system, though both are easily removed. The aftermarket stereo currently fitted will not be sold with the car, the original radio will be refitted for sale and is in working order. The single DIN adapter plate will come with the car, however.
MOT until October 2024.
High-spec options on this car, many of which are worth hundreds of pounds in parts alone, include:
Heated leather seats
Working air-conditioning (A/ C pipe replaced by Mercedes-Benz dealer)
Dash computer with relocated switch panel
Cruise control
16-inch ‘Spikeline’ alloy wheels
Official Smart accessory rear bulkhead storage shelf
Luggage cover (not pictured)
Major maintenance items:
Perspex rear windows replaced with top condition NOS items, these sell for at least £500 for an unfaded pair
Upgraded earth cable
Front springs replaced
Alternator replaced (2023)
Thermostat replaced (2023)
Central engine mount replaced (2023)
Knock sensor replaced (2023)
Most notable areas of wear are:
Some flaking of paint on the boot hinges
Minor wear to the outside bolster of the driver’s seat (pictued)
Small amount of flaked paint on the n/ s wheels (from kerbing)
Viewing is in Addlestone, Surrey, but I’m also in Cambridgeshire every other weekend, so the car could be viewed there instead.
The car has a full-service history, at first by Mercedes, then by independent Smart specialists. It comes with all of its original documentation and a big stack of invoices.
