1988 Mercedes Benz G Wagon 2. 8 GE
Please note - this vehicle has been SORN for a number of years, it's not something you can come and drive away. It's in need of some welding which I've highlighted in the photos. Sadly not a job I have the time or expertise for. There's a welding job to be done at the bottom of the rear door as well as the drivers side footwell - as a result the interior would need to be stripped, it's a job that's sadly beyond me. Most recent trip to the garage in 2021 there was an unresolved issue getting live to pump as no fuel was being pulled through.
Those are the bad bits.
If you're not put off by the need for work and are looking for an unadulterated example to put some time into this is the perfect car, it's been in the family for decades, as a result it's been kept in it's original state, has masses of documentation etc.
Phenomenally unusual to see these late 80's models around anymore, back when it was on the road it got so much love, most enjoyably it really seemed to annoy people in the new G63s. Anyway, I'm open to serious offers, it would be great to see her go to someone with the time and resources needed to get her back on the road.
