Description
Beautiful R129 in Rose Gold Metallic. 150 km so circa 93 k miles. Car originally registered in Singapore and it looks like it got here in 1999. I bought it in 2019 from a chap who had a gaggle of these. Used as a daily for a year and then it's been stored/ sparingly used. It's just come out of professional storage and it has a fresh MOT with no advisories.
Klasse replaced the loom for me I think in 2021 which solved a few unusual gremlins and the only other issues it has had is the rams at the top of the windscreen-Cayman replaced them and it works perfectly. George Fraser did the cam oiler tubes in 2019. It came to me with a 1990's alarm system which was removed and it's had two new keys programmed at Colin Ferns, also a DAB radio but the old ariel is still present. The plastic soft top windows have also been replaced.
The eagle eyed of you will notice that the car has the wrong bumpers-I do not know why but it has NO signs of previous accident damage. It also has confused it's MOT testers... the odometer reads in MPH but clearly logs distance travelled in KM's. This car was registered new in Singapore and likely had the cluster changed on it's arrival to the UK.
It looks and feels like a sub 100 k miles car. Body is practically perfect. I think that this car is still in it's original paint. The car has NO visible rust. The interior also has barely a mark on it although the cover for the drivers side A pillar has some likely sun related shrinkage.
Engine is turbine like, does not use oil (at all) and still fires this thing forwards enthusiastically.
It's a stunning colour in the flesh and whilst initially I thought the fake AMG rims were a bit much, I actually think they suit it.
Car has just come back from Klasse where it had a service, new discs and pads all round and some suspension bits and front tyres.
Reason for sale, I do not have storage and live in the Surrey Hills, it's practically impossible to keep a car like this in the open and not watch it deteriorate and, frankly it vexes my spirits.
It comes with a quality indoor fitted cover, full size spare and a hard top stand.
Price is going to be firm with this car, it's had entirely predictable R129 problems in my ownership and they have all been rectified by marque specialists, it has not been messed with.
You could really use this as a daily (I did) but I think at this age, and in this condition, it needs to be tucked away in the dry and taken out on high days and your holidays.
