Parilla 175 Super Sport 1961.
An incredibly rare machine in show room condition , it was subject to a twelve year restoration by the previous owner to the most exacting standards (the cost of which exceeded its market value)
The machine has been with its current owner for three years.
It is four stroke single cylinder unit construction engine with a high camshaft ( the valves final operation is by very short pushrods and rockers) This set up provides a high revving engine that is turbine smooth.
Transmission is via a four speed constant mesh gearbox.
Very few of these machines were imported into the UK due to their high price , although this reflected their incredible build quality and engineering excellence .
The Parilla rides superbly, with handling and brakes that are pin sharp. The paintwork and aluminium polishing are to the highest standards.
This bike is fitted with the genuine rev counter and drive ( an optional extra when new) made by Smiths Instruments to Parilla specification with their logo on the clock face. This item being sourced from Argentina during the process of restoration.
The motorcycle is great for regular riding, it has proved reliable, is an easy starter and the electrical system works fine.
The Parilla is a real head turner and is great for bike shows were it always attracts a crowd.
