This is a rare find. A 2 owner from new SAAB with just less than 42, 000 miles. Originally the sales managers car from a once well known long established SAAB dealer in Exeter then bought by the second lady owner (who was in the wine trade) from them, when the car was 11 months old and with 8, 600 miles recorded. This lady has just changed this low mileage emerging classic after 18 years ownership and a mere 33, 400 miles (1, 855 miles a year) for a Honda Jazz hybrid. Finished in nocturno blue metallic with 17 inch alloy wheels and a magnolia half leather interior this is a 2. 0 turbo 4 cylinder 175 BHP petrol engine 5 speed manual SAAB 9-3 Vector LPT saloon that is un-abused, un-modified and completely standard. The car is supplied with the original dealer number plates, 2 keys (1 key perfect, 1 worn, both working correctly) , all the owners hand-books in the SAAB wallet, space-saver spare wheel, tool-kit, locking wheel nut key, the original service book with 12 service stamps ( the first 4 stamps by the supplying SAAB dealer, the next 4 services by a SAAB specialist and the last 4 by 2 local independents), the original sales invoice, a folder of service and repair invoices totalling almost £7, 500), and a current mot until June 2024 with only very minor advisories (the head-lights have been polished and the door mirror re-fixed).
This responsive quality car is nicely equipped with power steering, ABS brakes, traction control, cruise-control, CD-Radio stereo with steering wheel controls, multi-function trip computer, air-conditioning, remote central locking, electric front and rear windows, electric door mirrors, front fog-lights, front air-bags and side air-bags. I have driven this car approximately 50 miles and it is as tight and responsive as it should be. I have owned 2 of these but both diesel so the pick-up from this 2. 0 LPT petrol was a revelation.
This is a genuinely nice well cared for and loved car from a mature, professional lady who has up until recently been a serial SAAB owner. With a little bit of fettling and sorting this could easily be a show stopper. Not perfect, but honest and well cared for. It deserves to survive. Obviously not a rare or special version but probably rarer through being the one everyone bought and then drove for 200, 000 miles until it was scrapped or stripped for parts. Whilst in lovely condition considering it isn't far of it's 20th birthday and considering this, it is incredibly well preserved with a decent service record showing the correct maintenance has been carried out. It appears to drive perfectly with everything working correctly including the air-con and all the digital displays. The last service was completed at 41, 050 miles on the 6th June 2023 and the MOT is valid until the 21st June 2024. The interior is in superb condition with some slight wear to the drivers seat, some wear to the rubberised interior door handles but nothing un-sightly. The gear knob and steering wheel feel new. There is one worn button on the air-conditioning where the matt black finish has worn through. The exterior is very nice with the only issue being the roof which has been painted before due to some sun damage, it has micro-blistered and has some paint lifting towards the edges of the roof into the gutter trim. The rear window rubber is perishing but not leaking, there is perhaps some evidence of a previous repair to the bonnet. There are some insignificant touched in marks and the alloys wheels have some very light kerbing and some paint lift but present very well for the age. There are 2 pin dents on the NS of the bonnet and a pin dent on both front doors and the drivers door mirror base has just started to corrode. This is a lovely car that has been through our workshop for a safety check which it passed easily. We have not done anything else other than wash the car and dress the excellent tyres. For a car that has been parked outside for the last 18 years the condition is a miracle. The last owner really loved and cared for this car. For an enthusiast this makes the perfect usable, rolling restoration daily classic driver that is also surprisingly ULEZ compliant and will easily maintain the pace and reliability of a modern car whilst just about costing the first payment on a soulless modern hatch PCP deal.
