Description
Designed and produced by Mills Extreme Vehicles (of Exocet fame), this Aston Martin DBR1 evocation is a true beauty. The DBR1 was Aston Martin's 1950's endurance racer, and won the 24 hour race at Le Mans in 1959.
This example was built over 2013/ 2014 and was IVA'd and registered in 2014, on the age related plates of its donor vehicle. The glass fibre body and its custom chassis are bolted to a 1989 Mazda MX5 Mk1 1. 6 power train unit. This version of the Mazda power unit puts out about 110 bhp as standard and can easily be tuned to 150 bhp with a cam, skim and ITBS, or supercharged to give 18+ bhp. Personally I find the car a lot of fun with the stock power (it weighs just over 700kg), and don't see the need to tune it.
The engine has been reconditioned and the engine and car have just south of 7000 miles on it at time of writing this advert.
This car is great fun to drive and draws attention wherever it goes, introverts should not consider buying!
There is a scratch on the near side rear wing and some stone chips as you'd expect.
The stainless steel tuned pipes give a lovely howl.
The car is correctly registered as an MEV Replicar.
The car is MOT'd till July 2024 and is currently SORN'd.
