This listing is for the regretful sale of my trusty Mondeo 2. 0 TDCi Ghia X which I have owned for nearly 3 years now and enjoyed every minute of ownership.
The Mk3 Ghia x are becoming quite rare especially well looked after low mileage examples like this one. It has covered approximately 93500 and is a dream to drive. This the 130 bhp model and for an old bus pulls very well and keeps up with modern traffic with ease. it puts a smile on my face whenever I get in and drive it. Being the Ghia X it has all the extras like Quick clear heated screen, cruise control, electric tilt/ slide sunroof, leather seats the fronts are heated and driver is electric and auto dimming rear view mirror.
It has had 4 owners from new, I purchased from it an elderly gentleman who had to give up driving due to health reasons. It has a partial service history the previous owner had the clutch and dual mass flywheel done at 62500 miles at a cost of £1181 and during my ownership I have meticulously maintained the vehicle myself with all the receipts to show what's been done which I will try to list some stuff below.
* Drive belt pulleys and tensioners
* Brake fluid flush/ renew
* Crankshaft oil seal
* Coolant change & thermostat
* Wheel bearings x2 rears
* Exhaust silencer rear
* Brake disk's and pads all round
* Turbo pipe
* Alternator clutch pulley modification (makes the drive belt run smoother)
The car has MOT until July 2024 and was last serviced in march 2024 at approximately 92600 these engines are chain driven so there are no timing belt/ cambelt changes to worry about they also don't have DPF diesel particulate filters like modern diesels which are known for their issue's with becoming blocked.
while the car does have air conditioning I have replaced the drive belt with a shorter one and bypassed the air compressor as this gives a little extra mpg as there is less work for the engine to do. I chose mpg over cold air. this can easily be reversed by reinstating the longer belt.
I would describe the overall condition as very good for a 22 year old Ford. it does have scuffs and stone chips here and there. the alloy wheels are in superb condition and really stand out. so overall a genuine and reliable example.
