Description
This is a 1977 Mobylette AV89, in Cauldron Bronze, which I have owned and used for 10 years. During that time I spent a year completing a 'nut and bolt' restoration, the results are superb and after owning the vehicle for all this time I am selling it to create more space for another project.
The restoration was completed in 2016 and this involved a complete strip down and rebuild. My approach was to restore parts that could be, where that was not possible I sourced original NOS parts from Brian Aplin in Bristol. The paint and chrome tanks panels were done professionally, so too were the wheels - the hubs were retained and the new rims and spokes acquired, the wheels were then professionally rebuilt. The bike has new white wall tyres which are period for this machine.
I have used this only on dry days for local trips, the bike has been kept clean and dry in my garage.
Every works as it should and it's a fun machine to ride, it certainly gets attention.
The asking price of £2500 does not reflect the time spent and money spent getting this bike to near concours condition but I am realistic that these things have a ceiling.
