1975 MZ ES150/ 1
I purchased this bike in November 2023 and carried out a light recommissioning as the bike has been standing for six years in a dry garage. The bike is fitted with a VAPE electronic system so easy to start and good charging.
Work carried out included –
Remove front and rear wheels – cleaned the brake shoes and drums, checked the wheel bearings and regreased. There is plenty of lining material on the brake shoes.
Tank and seat removed – all electrics and controlled cables checked
Oil drained from gearbox and refilled.
Carburettor removed and cleaned.
Exhaust removed and cleaned.
The following parts have been replaced –
Rear chain
Clutch cable
Rear brake cable
Carburettor float and float needle valve
New battery
New fuse holder
New headlight lens and bulb
New festoon bulbs and speedo bulbs
New footrests
New handlebar grips
New fuel tap and fuel line
New spark plug
The paintwork on the frame and the chrome on the suspension units are in reasonable condition.
It goes remarkably well far better than any BSA Bantam!!
It has the optional leg guards fitted which makes it a very practical bike to use in poor riding conditions. I have used it several times in the rain and my legs stayed dry and my over trousers stayed clean!!
