Description
The Marbella is a car that will never go out of fashion, thanks to its style and its small space. The Marbella was presented after the end of the FIAT-SEAT agreement in 1986 as a replacement for the SEAT Panda, the Iberian version of the famous Italian hatchback, from which the Marbella took the engines and general line, with a restyling done in a way that did not infringe on copyright rules. The essential changes were in the front end, the rear lights and the interior. The Marbella sold well throughout Europe, both with its basic versions and the countless special versions produced. As with the Panda, the Marbella owes its success to its spartanity, at times even greater than that of its Italian cousin (thoroughly updated since 1986), despite some slight differences that in some ways made it even more practical and robust than the Panda. Its essentiality allowed it to be sold at a very low and attractive price for those who wanted an economical city car. Compared to the Panda, the Marbella had integral front door linings from the start, while the former had only the lining at the top and exposed sheet metal at the bottom. From 1990, the rear wheel arches were also clad. In contrast, the more basic versions of the Marbella lacked hazard warning, an interior adjustable rear view mirror and a rear window wiper. The Marbella mounted leaf springs at the rear, like the first series Panda.
