This is an extremely rare 1990 Piaggio Vespino XE Elestart 49cc in the U. K it’s a two stroke push button Automatic in red with white new powder coated alloy wheels, it has gone a full restoration, the dvla have this as a Ferrari 49cc and on the dvla mot history down as a Piaggio which is correct but l quite like the Ferrari name. The following original parts replaced all new:-
Battery, speedometer and wheel pinion cog, rear brake shoe, clutch gasket, choke cable, chain cog, drive belt, 4, new indicators, 2 pedals, front basket, 2 mirrors, headlamp and bulb, front and rear tyres, full re spray and decals, carburettor and fuel filter overhauled .
Runs an drives as it should and is completely rust free, everything works, this has been a labour of love and don’t think you will find another same model for sale in the U. K, the original speedometer had 3600km on it so with fitting a new one it only shows 6km the distance getting the mot and taking it out for a runaround . The Piaggio Vespino is a great moped , it is very reliable and easy to maintain with all parts fully available , l sourced this one out in Holland from a classic motorcycle dealer who bought it in Malaga, it came with the Spanish documentation and after restoration l imported into the U. K , all import and nova taxes have been paid plus the registration fees to the DVLA, it’s mot’d until August 24th 2024 and has been garaged the whole time since the last mot, it’s a electric push button start, has a reserve petrol lever, also a factory immobiliser switch under a lockable seat, in great condition and viewing very welcome. £1500.
