Saab 9-5

Welcome to my listing for my parents’ Saab 9-5 2. 2 TiD.

I challenge you to find a better maintained and cosmetically in order 2. 2 TiD in the country. The car is entirely rust free, both on the top and on the underside. I have rarely ever seen a 9-5 of any mileage in this kind of condition. The specification of the car is also excellent, being a Linear Sport, it has the Aero body kit, but with the comfortable suspension setup. The car does have a cloth interior, however it is in excellent condition and I have deep cleaned all of the upholstery. It really is the best of both worlds.

It was purchased by a good friend in 2021, they required a car to move home. They purchased the car from its original owner who had it originally as a company car. They kept the car for 2 years. During which time I helped out with maintenance. It did very few miles during their ownership as you will see from the MoT history.

The best part about this car, is you have the looks of the Aero model with the fuel economy of the diesel! The next owner has the ability to retrofit upgrade parts that are readily available and cheap. The car drives better than most Aero models of the same age.

In my friend’s ownership the car had

• New wishbone and strut top mount on the drivers side,
• Oil & Filter service immediately after purchase,
• Air conditioning pump,
• Boost control solenoid and all vacuum lines,
• Aux belt,
• Battery,
• Polyurethane subframe bushes (Carried out by specialist),
• Heater hoses to heater core.

When the time came for my friend to sell, circumstances resulted in my parents buying it off them.

In their ownership the car had

• Renewed the gear linkage at the gearbox end, now very satisfying to use,
• Driver side window rollers ,
• Wipers front and rear,
• Headlamp de-crazing,
• Oil & Filter service,
• Driveshaft on the driver’s side,
• Renewal of all power steering pipes, custom made as they no longer make 2. 2 TiD pipes,
• MoT (due in 10 months)
• New indicator lenses

They have now decided to sell up as they have purchased an automatic 9-5 Aero as it's easier to drive.

As you have to expect with an older car, it isn't perfect.

• Small hole from a stone in the near side foglamp lens,
• Some light parking rash on front bumper.

The car has a partial service service history. Although the condition does speak for itself.

I would hang on to it myself, but I already have far too many Saabs requiring my attention.
