Reluctantly for sale is my Carrera GT Evocation, which I have owned for the last 10 or so year.

Based on a 1979 Series 1 924 turbo, it was reputedly converted to Carrera GT specification by a Porsche specialist in the north of England in the late 80's.

Both the previous owner and I have used it sparingly for track days, as well as the odd weekend drive in the country. It is primarily setup for the track or fast road use, but could also be used for competitive racing with a few minor alterations, such as an in date seat and harness.

It could be used for hill climbs or sprints immediately and would be a fearsome competitor in the right hands. Would also be superb for time trial competitions like 'tour auto' or 'Angouleme rally' etc. All which I had wanted to use it for but just haven't found the time.

The base car is extremely solid. The cills, floors, wheel arches etc are all original and never require welding or replacement. Underside extremely clean in factory rubberised underseal. Never required any welding and always dry stored during my ownership, and previous owner before me.

Spec as follows:

924 Turbo 2. 0L 8V
Manual 5 speed gearbox with dog leg 1st.
5 Stud hubs with very deep Fondmetal lattice alloy wheels shod in Toyo Proxes TR1 track tyres
3 inch stainless exhaust front to back with custom rear silencer (sounds absolutely superb especially on overrun, very throaty)
Exhaust sneaks below 95Db (Castle Combe etc)
Turbo rear disc brakes
Huge 4 pot Brembo calipers up front, on custom brackets with drilled discs and Yellow stuff track brake pads. (Boxster units)
Re-indexed rear suspension so sits very low
Leda fully adjustable shocks on all 4 corners with race springs (easily adjusted on the fly at the track)
K&N air filter
944 header tank conversion
Most recent addition is Water Methanol Injection (estimate BHP is now bumped well in excess of 200bhp) it really shifts!

Body
GRP Carrera GT rear wheel arch flares
GRP lightweight double skinned bonnet with CGT air scoop
GRP Carrera Gt front bumper with correct fog lights and indicators
Steel Carrera GT/ 944 front wings
Guards Red paintwork with correct Carrera GT decals

Interior
Largely stripped out i. e no carpet but retains dash and door cards
Very nice period correct Magnum Lightweight Bucket seats with full race harnesses
Both seats on sliders so easily adjusted for shorter / taller driver
Momo suede steering wheel
Full 6 point Roll Cage by Roll Centre, with removable door bars
Retains electric windows and pop out sunroof

Recent work includes rebuilt turbo (turbo technics), gearbox removed and inspected with new shaft seals, numerous water and fuel hoses replaced, as well as many other serviceable items such as replacement WIR, AAR & Cold Start Injector..

Recent addition of Devils Own water methanol injection (selectable) with boost and air inlet temp gauge in Meticulously maintained with cambelt every 12 months, fully synthetic race oils and fluids throughout, and very recent set of Toyo tyres

Large file of bills history and photographs from build etc.

Showing >23k miles, believe genuine mileage is sub 90K as had speedo change around 60K due to faulty unit.

Now TAX and MOT exempt registered as a Historic vehicle. Not currently MOT'd as not required by law but was Motd regularly until it became exempt a few years ago.

Overall condition is very nice and genuine, with a certain amount of age to it. So much so I am always approached by fellow Porsche enthusiasts at track days asking if it’s a genuine Carrera GT!

To recap a stupidly fast and superb looking Carrera GT Evocation. It really does represent superb value for money compared to the eye watering prices of factory built CGT's nowadays!

Reluctant sale, but for further detail or to arrange a viewing please give me a call / Any Sensible offers considered / No PX thanks as having slim on numbers / No test pilots thanks :-)

Extensive file of mot and servicing bills plus old photographs of build
