Selling my BMW R80 Project bike. Historic vehicle so MOT, Tax and ULEZ exempt :)
I bought this about a year ago to be the donor bike for a brat/ cafe racer conversion - these are perfect for the job. I've added a pic of the type of bike I was hoping to build!
Plan was to strip it completely down, clean it up, repaint, rewire, new subframe, new exhaust, new seat and put the lot back together again.
Anyway, not to be unfortunately - I've had to start travelling a lot for work and need a motorbike that runs.
Just not going to have time for it.
Bike is in really good nick considering how old it is - see pics.
Electrics are working (see vid) but I think it probably needs a new battery now. I did have the engine going a few months ago. However, it's been sat in the garage since and when I just tried it, the battery didn't have enough juice to move the starter.
Great choice for either a donor bike (as I was planning) or the much easier project of restoring it back to its former glory and keeping the classic aesthetics.
Some other bits - it's got a brand new classic number plate fitted, it's got both panniers fitted in great condition, its got the frame for a rear box too, it has a backrest for the pillion and..... it even has a cigarette lighter built in next to the dash...
