1972 Montesa Cota 247 twin shock 2 stroke ·
Montesa Cota 247 Road Reg, restored, 1972. Bike has had an extensive amount of work done with over £1500 on parts alone, all receipts for this. Many new parts- Electrex World ignition kit, crank seals, running gear, exhaust system, seat, levers, kick start, brakes etc, too much to mention here, but all receipts available. looks lovely & it starts easily and runs nicely- had been stood for a couple of years so I cleaned carb & changed fuel. Now starts 1st or 2nd kick. It’s just been road registered, comes with v5 logbook, in my name. I’ve not used it on the road or trialed it. It’s a lovely looking Classic trials bike in great condition. There is a bubble in paint in one side of tank, I’ve taken lots pics of this and clearly seen on video, it does not detract from how lovely the bike is overall. It’s a fibreglass tank unit, so I’m guessing the ethanol in the modern fuel may have caused the bubble in paint. Could be remedied by a sealant in in the tank, readily available. Viewing welcome
