Description
This well preserved and low mileage W124 estate has undergone a recent £6K restoration under its current owner and is now on the market ready to be enjoyed by a new owner. Restorative works include: a full set of new tyres, new brake pads, discs and calipers, alternator and alternator belt, strut top mounting, oil filter housing unit, cylinder head gasket and exhaust camshaft.
It should be noted that the radio antenna does not work and requires a new starter motor.
The azurite blue exterior paintwork is in excellent condition, save for a small hairline scratch on one of the rear passenger doors (pictured). Crucially, there are no signs of rust including on the wheel arches (always a bother with these models) and tailgate. The grey cloth interior with burr walnut trim show next to no signs of ageing with the typically cracked door cards, for example, looking brand new.
The car comes with FSH, the original owner's manual, the unused first aid kit along with the two original keys: the infrared remote key fob and the spare. The vehicle exemplifies Mercedes-Benz at its finest. The W124 was arguably the last of a range of tank-like models rolling out of MB factories with no expense spared when it came to build quality and reliability.
This particular model is the preferred estate variant with the striking azurite blue paintwork and contrasting grey cloth interior with all its 1990s charm. No matter where you're driving the gleaming paintwork and diamond-cut alloys coupled with the appealing sound of the 2799 cc engine always turns heads.
Optional extras include the rare seven seat option, factory-fitted cargo net and electric sunroof.
