1965, BSA A65SH spitfire hornet , first year bike prior to spitfire name being dropped to just Hornet.
Dating Cert shows exported to Hap Alzina, California , USA on 4th February 1965.
I purchased from local well known classic dealer, the previous UK owner who had imported from states had rebuilt forks, New Wheel Bearings, Chain, New Gearbox STD, , replaced fibreglass fuel tank for New Alloy tank before needing to sell to fund car project.
Dealer completed top end work, advised running in period and addition of Electrex World ignition.
I couldn’t get tickover quite right , suspected worn monoblocs, had timing / carb set up , which confirmed slide wear as likely issue.
Purchased brand new Amal 928 Concentrics at most recent Stafford Show at £445, which completely remedied issue.
Bike starts , stops, rides as you’d expect. UK registered on 1965 “C” registration , V5C in my name at my address.

Selling as not really my thing ( 2T 80’s ) and bought on to “ scratch an itch” really and appreciate I probably won’t recover my outlay.
Would be easy cosmetic restoration or perfectly respectable to use which was my intention
Priced very reasonably , can’t find another cheaper so won’t accept stupid offers. P/ X may be possible
