1983 Alfa Romeo Alfetta 116 Saloon, Built and supplied for the UK market October 1982 and sold to its first owner in May 1983, the present owner has owned the Alfetta and sympathetically restored it over the last twelve years, the Alfa was resprayed nine years ago and has held up very well in that time, the paintwork is still very good, the elephant in the room with these Alfa's is Rust, there is and never was a rust issue with this Alfa, its an old cliche but this is a true survivor and very rare,
We believe the Alfetta was stood up for many years from the late 1990's to 2012 when the current owner bought it and most likely the reason it has survived to date.
we have Mot's dating back to 1990 and would assume that the mileage 73, 000 miles is correct,
works completed over the past 12 years include,
Engine removed stripped and refreshed/ rebuilt, fitted back into the car with new engine mounts, still has running in oil in it, while the engine was away being refreshed the owner fitted the power steering unit from an Alfa 75, the rack was recommissioned and bolts straight into the Alfetta as a direct replacement, the only non genuine part is the power steering pump bracket that had to be specially fabricated to fit the Nord engine as the Alfa 75 engine is different,
all suspension bushes and shock absorbers replaced on the front, front brake calipers were rebuilt,
Carburetors rebuilt and refitted with brand new mounts, all the water hoses, radiator (sourced from Italy) and thermostat are brand new, the alternator was serviced/ recommissioned, full brand new exhaust, NOS rear bumper, number plate lights, all four bumper end caps sourced, correct Campagnolo period alloy wheels with new tyres, albeit fitted around nine years ago, probably only traveled 150 miles or so, many other parts replaced over the years.
Power steering , factory electric windows, factory sunroof, factory central locking, congestion charge, MOT and road tax exempt, build sheet directly from Alfa Romeo, many receipts, original book pack and V5.
There are some jobs still required to complete this wonderful Alfa but nothing that can't be easily rectified.
