You wanted unusual? You’ve got it!
This is the original Fastest Tuk Tuk in the World.
It has a Guinness World Record for going 74. 3mph with a passenger.
I’ve been all over the country with it. I’ve raised £40k + for charity with it but I travel away from home more nowadays and it hardly gets used.
It’s a 1993 Thai Tuk Tuk with a 1300cc petrol Daihatsu van engine.
It’s road legal. £280 a year to insure and about £180 in road tax. It’s classed as a trike for mot (class 3) and insurance purposes.
It has -
Custom seats (drivers one has gel)
Full stainless exhaust system.
Twin cooling rads and fans linked to a Davis Craig racing temperature monitoring system.
Twin front disc brakes with Brembo calipers.
Full all weather bespoke covers
It’s has a towbar and electrics if you want to tow a small trailer or teardrop caravan.
Bluetooth stereo linked to marine speakers and a subwoofer (LOUD)
Full neon lighting inside with two batteries and a split charge system.
During my ownership I’ve spent in excess of £25k building this unusual vehicle. It’s got many new parts that were imported from Thailand and some bespoke engineered parts made by a hot rod builder.
It’s been on The BBC One Show, at the Moto GP and at Le Mans.
I’ve been approached many times to hire it out and it’s done proms, weddings, fetes and other public promotional / marketing appearances. All monies raised have gone to local charities. Just this week I was approached by a Thai organisation to hire it out in London for 4 days at £500 a day. I’ve never used it to provide an income but it has great potential in the right hands.
I’m not desperate to sell it and will be really sad to see it go. If I don’t get the asking price I’ll keep it in my unit with my other toys. It’s ultra reliable and wants for nothing.
With a simple axle change and larger diameter wheels it would have a faster top end and could be used to beat the current record held by a Thai Tuk Tuk factory of 81mph.
There’s loads and loads of photos and videos online of my Tuk Tuk. It’s famous around the World. It was in the newspapers in Russia, and on TV in Thailand and even Australia!
You won’t find another like it.
Driving this you’ll get more attention than any super car / classic etc. it draws a crowd everywhere it goes.
New fresh MOT today 13/ 06/ 2024
The photos are from over the last 5/ 6 years. The drivers area has recently had all the dashboard, engine cover and surrounding parts prepared in fresh black powder coat. Looks really smart. The first picture is what it looks like today.
Viewing in Billericay EssexI bought on eBay 7 years ago after one too many beers.
I spent £25k rebuilding and pimping it with a big engine and did a Guinness World Record
