BSA B33 500cc 1954 - Price reduced now only £4750
For sale is my BSA B33 . I'm selling as have am finding it a bit too heavy for me to ride comfortably. Also I need space in my garage for a lighter bike. I have owned this machine for 2 years. I've ridden it about 1000 miles in that time. The speedo shows 10900 odd which I suspect is the mileage since it was restored around 15 years ago.

During my ownership I have fitted a new 376 monobloc carb from Burlen in Salisbury as the original was badly worn. I have changed the clutch to a later Triumph 4 spring type (bought new from Brit Bits). The clutch and gearbox work well but gear changing is a bit clunky and cannot be rushed. When I got the bike it had a pick up coil modification to the magneto to allow coil ignition. I found this to be very unreliable so I had the magneto rebuilt by Paul at APL, Shaftesbury. The bike is easy to start with the right technique, it usually starts 2nd or 3rd kick and runs very well now. Paul also refurbished the dynamo for me and I fitted a new DVR2 regulator and changed the polarity to negative earth. It would now be easy to upgrade to 12 volts and LED lamps. The front fork springs fitted were heavy duty sidecar type, I changed these for new correct ones. The suspension and steering is good as can be expected from a 1950's BSA swinging arm frame. The Avon Speedmaster tyres are good and I had the brake shoes relined by Villiers services, they now work well. The wheel rims and stainless steel spokes are in fine condition. The chrome and paint finish is good but the bike isn't in concours condition, there are a few scratches, chips and dings. It's a bike to be ridden. I run the primary case dry and use chain lube every 100 miles or so. There is some oil weep from the rocker box area. The engine does tend to wet sump if not run for some time.
I have the old buff log book, bills and receipts for work done years ago as well as receipts for parts I bought.
