I have owned this lovely Spider since April 2016. We have done some fabulous trips with our local classic car club and memorable one day Tours. We have covered over 20, 000 miles in the 8 years. It's time for a change and for someone else to experience the joy's of driving a Fiat 124 Spider.
The Fiat has had the following work done by Professional engineers since my ownership in 2016:
Clutch cable replaced
Heater control valve fitted
Coolant leak from radiator
Windscreen washer system stripped
Brake imbalance sorted
Timing belt and bearing replaced
Thread repair to water manifold flange
Drain fluids, strip out cylinder head
Assess and strip down cylinder head for machining
Machining . 010” to cylinder head
Top engine gaskets set
Silicon Crankcase Breather Hose
Breather Seal
Tappet Shims
Replace Oil Filter
Engine Oil 15W-40
Build up cylinder head, shim cams to spec.
Remove and reseal crankcase breather, replace perished breather pipe
Refit cylinder head, fit timing belt, plumb up, replace engine oil and filter, refill coolant, bypass leaking throttle body heater chamber. Refit all, run, set up emissions and test.
Remove and replace rear brake linings as supplied
DOT 4 fluid
Gear Oil
Remove and replace steering column switch, attend to wiring fault in intermittent wiper – trace and rectify earth problems and replace timer relay with GSH
Remove and replace heater matrix
Remove and replace brake fluid reservoir as supplied, bleed brakes
Drain and replace gearbox lube
Fit new flasher unit
Replace wiring terminal on Oil pressure switch
Cam belt and cam timing checked
Adjust ignition timing
Cam boxes torque down
Tappet clearances checked
Corrected grating on steering wheel
Fit washer bottle
New Battery
Air intake hose replaced
Oil filler cap
Bosch system checked and new lambda sensor fitted
Respray – Azzurro Metallica (2018)
New Ignition Switch fitted
Four new tyres

Replace all Differential Bearings, new Crown Wheel and Pinion
Over Heating – Remove Cylinder Head
Stripped Head & hot washed. Surface head flat & counter bore & fitted new valve seat. Cleaned all valves. Refaced all 8 valves, grind into valve seats & vacuum test. Rebuild head & shim valve clearances and replace all 8 shims.

Distributor CapThis Spider was imported from the USA in 1990. A full restoration was undertaken by the previous owner. At that time the cumbersome and ugly large black bumpers were removed and repalced with the early Spider's chrome bumpers that enhances the Spider's style and elegance.
The Spider was dark blue in colour when I purchased in 2016 but after 2 years of ownership, I had the Spider resprayed to it's present period and model correct colour of Azzurro Metallizzato (Paint Code 474). Photographs available.
The Spider has been stored when not in use in an Airflow chamber.
I am selling as I am looking to purchase another Italian classic car and there will be no room in my garage.
